On March 16th, 2008, thousands of Tibetans protested in Ngaba town (Tib: རྔ་བ་རྫོང་། Ch: 阿坝镇 Aba Town, Sichuan Province). Chinese armed police opened fire killing at least 23 Tibetans and injuring many others.
