On March 17th, 2008, the Tibetan national flag was raised atop a cell-phone tower by Tibetan protesters. The flag was removed by Chinese police on March 19th. Chinese military helicopters were seen patrolling in Lhagang, Kham Tibet (Tib: ལྷ་སྒང་། Ch: 塔公 Tagong County, Sichuan Province).
